Functional nutrition looks at you as an individual. It assesses your entire health story: your genetics, your environment, your lifestyle, your nutrition, and your health history. It looks at you as a whole, not just the symptoms you’re currently experiencing.
The core focus is to identify the root cause or causes of your illness. Once the root cause has been identified, we create steps for healing. These steps are tailored to your individual needs because there is not a one-size-fits-all approach.
With an in-depth understanding of how nutrition and lifestyle can influence long-term health, the functional nutrition approach works with systems and frameworks that resolve the root cause of ANY sign, symptom, or diagnosis.
As a health coach, I help you to identify the root cause of your health issues. From there I create an individualised actionable healing plan.
But I don’t just leave you with some steps to implement yourself. I educate you on your body, what it needs, why it needs it, what it doesn’t process well and how that affects your daily life. I empower you with knowledge and support you every step of the way while you make sustainable lifestyle and nutrition changes.
By the end of the program, you will have undergone a total health transformation. You’ll be pain-free, bursting with energy like you’ve never felt before, and you’ll never miss those taken for granted until you can’t do them any more moments again.
When combining all my studies, nursing, naturopathy, functional nutrition, and iridology, it became clear that there was one thing missing. While they all focused on the next step forward, the changes that needed to be made, they failed to address the accumulations of toxicity from a lifetime of events.
When taking a deeper dive into traditional healing practices they all address the need to regularly cleanse the body. I believe this step of fasting and detoxing to cleanse the body of all the built-up toxicity is a vital step before moving forward into the necessary nutrition and lifestyle changes. It clears out the damage from the past and sets the foundation for the future of your health. This belief has been supported by the success of every person I have coached, the history of traditional healing, and by modern-day science. Fasting and detoxing have been shown to benefit longevity, healthy aging, and overall quality of life.
Sutchain has an innate passion for life and good health. She has devoted her entire life to healthcare. At the age of 17, she began caring for children and seniors with mental and physical disabilities. Not long into this role, she felt a pull to dive deeper into the healthcare industry. At 28 years old, she became a registered nurse and spent most of her career in operating theatres.
After 10 years of working as a registered nurse, Sutchain experienced her own health crisis. Diagnosed with chronic illnesses and a degenerative disk disease she was forced to end her nursing career. However, this life event started her on a journey of exploring the world of traditional and holistic therapies.
In 2017, she began studying Naturopathy. She knew she wanted to educate people and promote prevention rather than just managing symptoms. Enthralled by all the answers natural healing had to offer and the success it provided in her own health and her family’s, she was set on following this path. However, three years into her studies she received devastating news from one of her closest friends.
Her friend had been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. By the time it was diagnosed, the cancer had spread to her spine, pelvis, and liver. Having spent nearly 25 years in healthcare, Sutchain knew what mainstream medicine had to offer. With her in-depth naturopathic studies, she also knew what was on offer there. Feeling neither world was going to offer the right answers to her friend’s health, Sutchain decided to change her specialty from Naturopathy to cleansing & fasting.
The world of cleansing, fasting, and the in-depth knowledge of how toxicity accumulates through your life, and how it impacts your health challenges was mind-blowing. She became a Health Coach after studying ancient healing, cleansing, and fasting with Tyler Tolman. She also studied physical iridology with Toni Miller. After learning the power of nutrition in health she completed studies in the principles of functional nutrition and became a Functional Nutrition Lifestyle Practitioner.
Now, her experience as a Registered Nurse, Iridologist, Functional Nutrition Lifestyle Practitioner, and Certified Health Coach has allowed her to marry mainstream medicine with holistic healing. As a registered nurse, she is knowledgeable in disease treatments from doctors. Having studied natural health science, she looks for holistic methods to help patients heal. However, to really see complete resolve and change to your health outcomes, that is where the cleansing, fasting, and emotional toxicity needs to be addressed.
With this approach, Sutchain designed a unique healing framework that covers the foundations of health for realistic nutrition and lifestyle change. This framework is what saved her health, not only managing symptoms but healing the root cause. With this approach, her patients tend to see a 75% improvement within 12 weeks.
Working from her McLaren Vale clinic, over the last 2 years Sutchain has empowered many clients in their health journeys, educated them on the fuel their body needs, helped them achieve real health transformation with sustainable lifestyle changes and healed the root cause of various diseases. She is always furthering her skillset and researching more effective healing practices. Sutchain passionately believes that nutrition and lifestyle are the most important factors that determine health and disease. Every time we eat, we are either fuelling our health or feeding the disease.
"The choices that we make today will dictate our health in the future.” - Sutchain Heap
